HITTING CAMPS
Hitting Camp is a great chance for players in grades 7th and Above to stay in shape and get hitting instruction from the UWF coaching staff. In addition, it will be a great opportunity for potential student-athletes to see the University and interact with the UWF coaching staff. We will cover hitting and break down each player’s swing at Jim Spooner Field. This camp will cover all the basics of having a complete swing and we will take batting practice under the lights on the field and get to use the UWF Hitting Facility. West Florida has recently had some of its best years offensively, 2018, 2021 and 2023 marks three of the top five offensive seasons since 1995. 2024 saw a UWF player lead NCAA Division II in homeruns and set career and single season records and several offensive categories resulting in being selected in the 6th round of the MLD draft. In 2023 UWF lead the GSC in hits while being second in doubles, RBI’s, and On-base Percentage. The 2021 team had a player that completed a 31 game hitting streak to set a new UWF record. In 2022 a player set the new career record for home runs while 2023 saw a player set a new single season home run record.

The entire camp will be held at Jim Spooner field on the campus of University of West Florida. This is a SELECT event. Only 20 players admitted to the camp. Entry is 1st come, 1st serve. The three camps will be run on Wednesday nights; time of the camp will be 6:00pm until 8:00pm starting Wednesday September 3rd through October 1st (September 24th off) with the second camp starting Wednesday October 8th through October 29th and the third Wednesday November 5th through December 3rd (November 26th off). This year we will also offer the opportunity to provide Diamond Kinetic Metrics. The first session and last session will include using the bat knob sensor to provide you with information regarding your swing including metrics like “Max Barrel Speed, Applied Power, Hand Speed, ETC). We will measure two times within the camp.
